Tales From Under the Silk Cotton Tree

This was my BFA installation. I created a forest at night, mimicking my childhood experiences on the island of Trinidad. There were trees made of naturally dyed cotton fabric hung from the ceiling and under-lit. There were night sounds of the area I grew up in and overlaid there were folklore stories, superstitions and supernatural experiences told by friends and family. When you entered the space, there were lanterns to chose from, to light your path as you walked through the forest.
